Law as a career is historically regarded as a respectable and lucrative one. A career in law can be intellectually challenging, personally fulfilling and financially rewarding. Being a ‘part of justice being done’ is the greatest take away for law as a career.

MANIFOLD LEGAL CAREER OPTIONS :

Law is a quest and stirring career option and is in great demand these days. The ambition to enter legal profession is drawn from inspiration. The complexities of our legal system have created hundreds of legal career options that serve a variety of core and non-core legal functions. The legal professional’s role is expanding and evolving to keep pace with the ever-changing legal system. There are various areas of specialisation in this field which are explained as under :

LITIGATION

The conduct of a lawsuit is called litigation. As a litigator, your main focus is to provide legal services to the clients across a wide range of civil, commercial and criminal law issues.

Profile : Civil Lawyer , Criminal Lawyer , Public Prosecutor , Law officer in Armed Forces.

LAW FIRM CULTURES

Law firm culture is a business that is engaged in the practice of law which is very different from solo practise. It has several lawyers, specialising in different laws and working together to provide legal services to the clients.

CORPORATE COUNSELS

Corporate counsel refers to the lawyers employed by businesses, corporations and organisations. They work as an in house legal counsel and advising on legal matters related to the business .

JUDICIAl SERVICES

The judicial branch is in charge of deciding the meaning of laws, how to apply them to real situations, and whether a law breaks the rules of the Constitution. It is a stable legal profession and involves developing policies and delivering justice.

FORENSIC EXPERT

Forensic Expert has to combine legal knowledge with investigation skills which requires an additional qualification in forensic, these skills are mostly applied in criminal cases. Forensic experts provide the court with legally acceptable evidence with the scientific proof.

LEGAL JOURNALIST

Legal Journalist is a person who collects, writes, or distributes information to the public more like a journalist, and less like a lawyer on different media platforms. They are often specialised in reporting matters related to the concept of law.

LAW REPORTERS  & WRITERS

ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) refers to any means of settling disputes outside of the courtroom i.e without litigation. ADR methods are much faster and cheaper mechanism of dispute resolution.

Though, Law profession looks very attractive, but its imperative to choose the right field and Job of Law.  What kind of person would make a great lawyer, writer, academician or judge, it depends upon the skill set one possesses. If you are communicative, extrovert and presentable, law is definitely a career, One should choose.
